Israeli Fire Kills One Palestinian, Injures Another

(MENAFN) A Palestinian was killed and another sustained injuries from Israeli forces on Tuesday in the southern Gaza Strip, according to medical sources.

A young Palestinian man succumbed to a gunshot wound to the head inflicted by Israeli army fire south of the al-Mawasi area, west of Khan Younis, the sources told a news agency.
The sources added that another young man sustained moderate injuries after being shot by Israeli forces east of Khan Younis.

Israel has carried out hundreds of ceasefire breaches since the agreement was implemented, including shelling and gunfire that have resulted in the deaths and injuries of hundreds of Palestinian civilians.

These violations have persisted despite the US administration’s statement in January that the second phase of the ceasefire agreement had begun. This phase entails further Israeli withdrawals from Gaza and the commencement of reconstruction projects, which the UN estimates will require around $70 billion.

The ceasefire concluded an Israeli offensive that started on Oct. 8, 2023, lasting nearly two years, resulting in over 71,000 Palestinian deaths and more than 171,000 wounded, while obliterating roughly 90% of Gaza’s infrastructure.
