Israeli Operations Kill Two Palestinians in Occupied West Bank

(MENAFN) Two Palestinian individuals lost their lives at the hands of the Israeli military in the occupied West Bank on Sunday, based on an official announcement released by Palestinian authorities.

Palestine’s General Authority of Civil Affairs reported that Muhammad Iyad Abahra, aged 16, was fatally shot by Israeli forces late Saturday in the village of Silat al-Harithiya, located west of Jenin city.

The authority further stated that Israeli troops retained possession of his body following the incident.

According to the statement, Israeli military units stormed Silat al-Harithiya late Saturday night, opening live fire and deploying stun grenades against local residents. These developments were confirmed by an official Palestinian news agency.

In a separate incident, another Palestinian was shot dead by Israeli forces in the southern West Bank city of Hebron, after allegedly attempting to carry out a stabbing attack on soldiers, the news agency reported.

The news agency stated that Israeli troops fired a bullet into the young man’s head near the northern entrance of Hebron City, leaving him severely wounded on the ground.

Soldiers reportedly blocked medical personnel from accessing the scene to provide treatment.
Authorities did not disclose any information regarding the victim’s identity.

Palestinian statistics indicate that Israeli forces and illegal settlers have killed at least 1,093 Palestinians in the occupied West Bank, including East Jerusalem, since October 2023.

During the same period, nearly 11,000 people were injured and approximately 21,000 were arrested.
